The most distinguished and well-known Hiroshima cuisine is this Hiroshima-style pancakes. Usually it has layers of piled up cabbage, sprouts, meat slices and noodles sandwiched by thin crepes, served on a special sauce characteristic to this region. It is said there are more than 2,000 Okonomi-yaki houses in Hiroshima city alone, the most unique one being the Okomoni-mura(Okonomi-village). This seven-storied building holds 27 genuine Okonomi-yaki stores, attracting many field-trip students and other tourists.
